We all know what it’s like to celebrate with a party popper or two but wouldn’t it be nice if they didn’t come in such garish colours??
To give those of you who have never heard of or indeed experienced a party popper, let me explain what its purpose is.
It emits a loud popping noise by means of a small friction-actuated explosive charge that is emitted by pulling a string. The explosive charge comes from a small amount of gunpowder in the neck of the bottle-like shape. It is believed by some that Guy Fawkes’ original plan involved tying the strings of over one thousand party poppers together and pulling them all simultaneously. (thanks Wikipedia!)

I’m glad to say that the design have moved on somewhat from Guy Fawkes and now we have wonderful gold and silver poppers that you’ll feel proud to display at a wedding.

Wedding Fayres – are they all they’re cracked up to be??

Well we all back from our Summer holidays and for those of you who are newly engaged I bet you’re eagerly looking forward to the start of the seasons wedding fayres. Although wedding fayres are a good starting point, I’ll talk you through some other options that you may not have thought of.

1. Wedding fayres cost money!

You may not think that, when it’s free entry + a goody bag but someone somewhere is paying for it and that cost is going to be passed onto you.

2. The bigger fayres seem like a good idea, am I right? Well lets take a closer look…

The pack ‘em in approach is often the main aim of large wedding fayre companies but what inevitably happens is that Brides and Grooms have little time to spend talking to suppliers, for fear of taking too long whilst other couples look at their watches waiting for you to move on. I had this exact experience when I exhibited at one of Flaunt Events premier shows at Chester Racecourse last year. The stands were so confined in small spaces, with narrow aisles between them, that the queue of people waiting to speak to myself and my colleague, just couldn’t get to us or see any of our products in detail. Less is more!

3. Buyer beware…
Signing up for any ‘specials’ on the day is forcing your hand. Exhibitors want your business and so place offers on the table that you can’t refuse.. or can you? Always take your time and never be rushed.

4. Have a plan…
If you take a moment to decide what style you want for your wedding and then look online, you will find a lot of reputable companies, with exceptional testimonials, prepared not to charge you over the odds for being at large wedding fayres.

5.Talk to us we don’t bite:)
Our policy at Sticky Snail Design is to be fashionably affordable and we do that by not expecting our Brides to pay mark ups on exhibiting at wedding fayres.

Oh did we mention that we do free consultations with a cup of tea and a biscuit and as much time as you need to discuss your wedding? You just cant beat that!
